SHOALS – The Martin County Sheriff’s Department has reported receiving calls about an individual impersonating Sergeant Johnathan Wells and demanding several hundred dollars to avoid arrest.
The Sheriff’s Department emphasizes that while they have a Sergeant Wells, they will NEVER request money over the phone to prevent an arrest.
Residents are urged not to provide personal information if they receive such a call.
