ORLEANS – Will Terry of the Orleans American Legion Post #69 presented Orleans Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Robert Henderson with a check, representing a portion of the legion’s proceeds from this year’s Dogwood Carnival.
The legion has been a longtime community partner with the local chamber and the annual Dogwood Festival, which sponsors the midway for the town’s signature event.
Supporting organizations that hold fundraisers during the Dogwood Festival traditionally donate a portion of their proceeds to help offset some of the cost of keeping the festival going year after year.
