Man arrested after his vehicle collided with bicycle and he tested positive for drugs

BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested on a warrant on drug-related charges after the report of an accident at the intersection of 5th and M Streets on March 31.

When police arrived, they found a vehicle had collided with a bicycle. Police found a woman on the ground next to her bike. The woman, who was 12 weeks pregnant, complained of pain in both legs and her neck.

The woman told police the vehicle made the turn way too sharp and struck her and the bicycle. She told police she “felt the vehicle targetted her by swerving towards her.”

The woman was transported to IU Health Bedford Hospital for treatment.
