Olivia Mitchell, 65, of Bedford, passed away at 1:00 p.m., July 5, 2024, at Westview Manor Nursing and Rehab. Born August 30, 1958, in Aguascalientes, Ags Mexico, she was the daughter of the late Pascual Ortiz and Juana Gallegos. Olivia married Jack Mitchell on August 5, 1987, in Louisville, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death in June 2024.
Olivia was a St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church member and a schoolteacher. She also loved spending time with her friends and family.
Surviving to cherish Olivia’s memory are her children Jackie (Rebecca) Mitchell, Maria Sanders, and Sue Mitchell; one brother, Jorge Ortiz Gallegos and his wife Maria de Jesus Munoz Gallegos; grandchildren Jordan Allen, Carmen Stipp, Devon Sanders, and Elizabeth Mitchell; several great-grandchildren; nephews Jorge Ortiz Munoz and Carlos Ortiz Munoz; niece Paulina Ortiz Munoz; and many close cousins.
Olivia was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Cremation was chosen, and she and Jack will be laid to rest at Parroquia de Nuestra Senora de Bospues in Malle Montes Himalaya, Aguascalientes, Ags. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
