Patricia J. McVicker, 86, of Bedford, passed away at 7:50 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2024, at her residence.
Born November 1, 1937, in Bloomington, she was the daughter of James E. and Margaret L. (Beyers) Knapp. She married Ernest Roy McVicker on June 10, 1955, and he preceded her in death on June 20, 2001. She retired from Ford/Visteon in January 2000. She attended Heltonville Baptist Church for many years.
Survivors include two sons, James Brenton McVicker (LaDana Stidam) and Stanley Keith McVicker, both of Bedford; grandchildren, Michael, Joseph (Catherine), Chelsey, Christian McVicker, Amy Cornwell and Joshua McVicker (Victoria), Shaylin King and Treyton (Carrie) King; great-grandchildren, Keilan, Kestin, Justice, Emmalyn, Brayden, Kai, Taylor, Carter, and Taylor Reese; two sisters, Brenda Carol McVicker and Anne McVicker, all of Arizona; sister in law, Frances McVicker; a brother in law, Joe McVicker, of Atlanta, GA.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son, Vernon Roy (Smiley) McVicker, a grandson, T.J. McVicker, and a brother, James E. Knapp, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, in the Elmwood Chapel of Day and Carter Mortuary, with Reno Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
