Grants for Urban Forestry projects throughout Indiana

INDIANAGrants totaling $418,066 are available to fund urban forestry projects throughout Indiana. Three separate grant opportunities are available. All three have the same application deadline, Sept. 4, 2024; however, each grant has different parameters, funding levels, and project types.

Please carefully read the application instructions for each. You may apply for more than one grant, but receiving funding for more than one grant is not guaranteed. Funding announcements will be made by Oct. 4, 2024.

Community & Urban Forestry Assistance (CUFA) grant – $230,000 available

  • Projects may include inventories, management plans, tree plantings, and more.

State Urban Forest Resilience (SUFR) grant – $148,066 available

  • Funding is needed to manage and recover from the emerald ash borer.
  • Projects may include removing dead ash trees, treating ash trees, and planting trees.

Natural Disaster Recovery (NDR) grant – $40,000 available

  • Funding for the recovery from a natural disaster.
  • Projects may include the development/updating of storm recovery response plans and tree plantings.
