BEDFORD— The Man in the Mirror ministry, a national organization equipping Christian men to build meaningful relationships, recently wrapped up its highly successful 2nd Annual SoIN Golf Scramble. Held on June 29th at Stone Crest Golf Course, the event brought together community members for a day of friendly competition while raising awareness and support for the ministry’s impactful work.
The event was organized by Man in the Mirror’s Area Director, Nate Flynn, along with many others.
Man in the Mirror recognizes the struggles men face in today’s society—identity crises, overwhelming responsibilities, relationship difficulties, and a lack of purpose. These challenges often lead men down destructive paths, creating a ripple effect of societal problems. By fostering genuine connections and a deeper understanding of the gospel, the ministry empowers men to discover their true calling. This transformation positively impacts every facet of their lives, strengthening marriages, families, churches, workplaces, and the community as a whole.
The SoIN Scramble serves a crucial role in supporting this mission. The event boasted an impressive turnout: 76 golfers, over two dozen sponsors representing more than 20 churches, and 15 dedicated volunteers all contributed to a fun-filled day on the course.
Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive. They praise the event’s organization and smooth execution, making for a truly enjoyable experience. But the impact goes beyond the greens. The SoIN Scramble successfully raised over $4600 and introduced the ministry’s message to over three dozen new individuals.
This year’s theme, “Teeing Up Transformation,” perfectly captured the event’s spirit. Just as a well-placed tee shot paves the way for a powerful drive, every participant, volunteer, and sponsor propelled positive change in men’s lives. The proceeds directly support the local ministry’s efforts, providing free training, coaching, consulting, and resources to men and churches in Southern Indiana. This foundational work tackles the root causes of social issues like abuse, homelessness, crime, and fatherlessness. The Man in the Mirror ministry believes everyone benefits when men are empowered to thrive.
Nathan thanked the incredible volunteers who made the event possible and the generous sponsors who recognized the ministry’s mission’s transformative power.
