ORLEANS – On Thursday, the Orange County Sheriff’s Dispatch received reports of a domestic dispute at a gas station in Orleans. The caller indicated that the couple had left the scene in a female-driven vehicle.
Officers located the vehicle and identified the occupants as Kellie Allen, 46, of Bedford, and Brian Todd, 49, also of Bedford. Trooper Noah Ewing spoke with both individuals.
During the interaction, officers observed signs that Ms. Allen was impaired. A subsequent chemical test was administered at IU Health Hospital in Paoli. Kellie Allen was arrested on preliminary charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (OVWI) – Class A Misdemeanor, Public Intoxication – Class B Misdemeanor, and Disorderly Conduct – Class B Misdemeanor.
The investigation further revealed that Mr. Todd had battered Ms. Allen and was in violation of a previously issued protection order. Brian Todd was arrested on preliminary charges of Domestic Battery – Class A Misdemeanor, Invasion of Privacy – Class A Misdemeanor, Public Intoxication – Class B Misdemeanor, and Disorderly Conduct – Class B Misdemeanor.
Both Kellie Allen and Brian Todd were transported to the Orange County Jail, where they are currently being held on bond. It is important to remember that all criminal defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
