February 11, 1932 – July 11, 2024
Marian Laverne (Browning) Beaver, 92, of Oolitic, went home to be with her heavenly father at 7:25 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
Marian Browning was born February 11, 1932, in Bedford, Indiana, the daughter of Ray and Amy (Hegwood) Browning. She married Phillip Owen Beaver, who preceded her in death in 2001.
Marian was a homemaker and, in later life, worked out of the house with one of her favorite jobs: being an exercise instructor in the late 1970s at the FigurSalon on south Mitchell Road in Bedford.
Marian maintained her exercise routine for the remainder of her life, most likely contributing to her longevity.
Marian worked at Ford Electronics, later Visteon, and retired in 1993. Marian was active in
the Bedford Elks Club as a lady auxiliary member for many years. She was also a member of the Omega Nu Tau ladies’ sorority for many years.
Two children survive Marian: Elaine Summers and husband, Lonnie Summers of Bedford; James Ray
Beaver and his wife, Martha Elena Morgan Beaver of Bloomington; two grandchildren, Amy Hriso of
Bloomington, Jason Summers of Mitchell; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Carson Summers; two
step-grandchildren, Tyler Morgan of Indianapolis and Michael Morgan and wife, Mckenna of Bargersville, Indiana; two step-great-grandchildren, Macie and Myla Morgan.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary on Thursday, July 18th, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., followed by a graveside service at the Beech Grove Cemetery.
