BLOOMINGTON – On Saturday, July 13, around 7:15 p.m., Monroe County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the Woodland Springs pool at 3111 South Leonard Springs Road due to the report of a 5-year-old child found unresponsive in the pool.
When deputies arrived, medical and fire personnel were actively performing CPR on the 5-year-old male child. The child was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital as a trauma alert but was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Detectives responded and conducted interviews of witnesses who were at the scene.
A preliminary investigation indicates no evidence of a crime.
This remains an open and active investigation.
