Hanover College student arrested for campus assault

CLARK CO. – On Tuesday, detectives with the Indiana State Police-Versailles and Sellersburg Posts arrested a 22-year-old Clark County, Indiana man on a felony rape charge following an incident that occurred on the campus of Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana, in the fall of 2023.

In September 2023, the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post was contacted to investigate an alleged sexual assault that occurred on the campus.  The investigation by ISP Detectives indicated that in the early morning of September 17, 2023, a student at the college, Jackson Kruer, 22, of Clarksville, Indiana, and an adult female student left an on-campus party together.

Both students walked to the female’s dorm room, where she was allegedly sexually assaulted by Kruer.  Kruer then left the dorm and returned to his on-campus residence.  The female victim immediately reported the assault to campus security.  Indiana State Police Investigators were soon contacted to investigate the incident.

After the investigation, the case was presented to the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office for review.  As a result, a warrant for Rape, Level 3 Felony, was issued for Jackson Kruer.

Kruer was arrested today in Clark County, Indiana, and transported to the Jefferson County (Indiana) Jail, where he was incarcerated pending an initial appearance in court.

Indiana State Police Investigators were assisted in the investigation by the Hanover College Security Department and the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office.
