Heirloom tomatoes and sweet corn available at Bloomington’s Community Farmers’ Market

BLOOMINGTON – Kevin Graber and wife, Mary Anna, first met on an earlier mission trip years ago. They started raising a family and raised produce together in 2008 on Buffalo Trail Farm. They find pleasure in building the soil and nurturing plants.

Many have enjoyed their favorite crop—heirloom tomatoes. Kevin sums it up best by sharing that his family finds fulfillment on the farm and at the farmers’ market.

“We like connecting with other vendors and enjoy the customers, old friends, and new ones we interact with weekly.”

They will sell produce at Bloomington’s Community Farmers Market on Saturday at Showers Commons, 401 North Morton Street, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

It’s that time of year when corn is in abundance at the Farmers’ Market. This week, the Market will feature two vendors –  Perry Richardson’s Produce Farm, located in Booth #C7, and Dan McCullough’s Sweet Corn, located in Booth #B1 – who bring delicious ears of corn in season. Whether yellow, white, or a hybrid of the two, you will find your favorite variety of corn.

Music at the Market

This Saturday’s entertainment line-up features Rush Ridge Revival. This is their first time at the Market.

They’re an energetic band playing all your favorite sing-along songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and beyond.

They’ll begin a two-set performance at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Park and Recreation Month 2024: Where You Belong

In 1985, the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) designated July – National Parks and Recreation Month. This year’s theme is “Where You Belong.”

This month is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the more than 160,000 full-time park and recreation professionals and hundreds of thousands of part-time and seasonal workers and volunteers who maintain our country’s local, state, and community parks.
