PATOKA LAKE – Orange County Rural District 1 firefighters rescued a monkey from a tree at 11:44 p.m. on Tuesday from a tree at Patoka Lake campground.
The caller reported their pet monkey was stuck up in a tree.
Curious George decided to leave camp and go for a late-night stroll. During her adventure, her leash got tangled in a branch approximately 30-35 feet up in a tree.
A plan of action was established with quick planning from the first arriving units on the scene. A few strategic cuts were made, and the monkey was safely lowered back to the ground.
