BEDFORD – On Wednesday, July 17, Bedford Police officers responded to 20th and H Streets at 9:42 a.m. to pick up a female juvenile on a charge of escape from home detention.
Police say the juvenile left the home on foot, and her mother was following her in a black sedan.
Captain Lemke located the teen at 20th and H Streets in the alley. The officer in a vehicle behind the girl’s mother’s sedan lost sight of the girl. The officer left his car to look for the girl but could not find her. He got back into his patrol car and continued the search.
Officer Blackwell located the girl behind a house on the 2000th block of H Street. Capt. Lemke, Sgt. Dodd and Officer Blackwell surrounded the house and detained the teen, who was then transported to the Bedford Police Department.
Juvenile probation was alerted, and the teen was transported to the Dickinson Juvenile Justice Center.
