The City of Bloomington names Shatoyia Moss as Director of Community and Family Resources

BLOOMINGTON – The City of Bloomington Mayor Kerry Thomson has appointed Shatoyia Moss as the Department of Community and Family Resources’ (CFRD) Director, effective immediately.

Moss has been interim director since May 20, after Beverly Calendar-Anderson’s retirement, and has been the Safe and Civil City Director for CFRD since 2018. Additionally, she serves on the New Hope for Families, IU Credit Union, and Leadership Bloomington-Monroe County boards. In 2022, President Barack Obama selected her to participate in the Obama Leaders Foundation inaugural cohort for the United States. 

Before her career at the City, Moss was the Director of Indiana Kids, a mentoring and tutoring program at Indiana University. Moss holds a Bachelor’s of Science from Indiana University.

“I am honored to be appointed as the Director of Community and Family Resources,” said Moss. “I look forward to continuing our efforts to support and uplift the Bloomington community through inclusive and impactful programs.”
