BEDFORD – AT&T will host an event on Monday, July 22nd, 2024, at 9:30 am at the StoneGate Arts & Education Center (931 15th Street) to announce two exciting initiatives for Lawrence County.
First, AT&T, in partnership with Human-I-T, will donate 100 refurbished laptops and backpacks to the Lawrence County Economic Growth Council. AT&T will fund the distribution of these laptops to pre-selected organizations that assist local families in need.
Secondly, AT&T will announce the commencement of construction on one of their four projects to bring AT&T Fiber to Lawrence County. These four projects, funded by a combination of broadband contracts awarded by Lawrence County and a Next Level Connections grant from the State of Indiana, total over $12 million and aim to connect nearly 5,000 homes and businesses with high-speed internet access over the next two years. This initiative will significantly contribute to closing the digital divide in the community.
Present at the event will be:
- Rodney Fish, Lawrence County Commissioner
- Joe Timbrook, Director of Career Development, Lawrence County Economic Growth Council
- State Senator Eric Koch
- Bill Soards, President, AT&T Indiana
