BEDFORD – A Norman woman was arrested on drug charges after Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Brenten Trueblood stopped a silver car in the area of Leesville Road on Friday, July 5, 2024, for not having a license plate on the vehicle.

The driver was 44-year-old Kathryn Redelman. She was detained on charges of possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.

Redelman handed the officer a form from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, where she reported that the license was stolen or lost. A Bedford Police Officer signed the form.

Deputy Trueblood said Redelman was breathing heavily and was nervous.

Deputy Keaton Carter and his canine partner arrived on the scene to assist.

Officers contacted the vehicle’s registered owner to ensure it had not been stolen. The owner said they permitted Redelman to use the car.

The canine alerted police to possible drugs in the vehicle. During a search, police found a black handbag in the passenger seat. Inside, police found a glass smoking pipe, three baggies of crystal meth, two clear cylinder containers with black lids that contained THC wax, and a blue smoking pipe. In all, police seized three grams of meth.

Redelman said all the items belonged to her.
