Nelson Heights Subdivision is granted a variance in Bedford ordinance

BEDFORDAt Tuesday’s Board of Zoning Appeals meeting, Nelson Properties LLC requested a variance in a Bedford City Ordinance that dictates sign proximity to roadways. They had erected a beautiful limestone sign for the addition but measured its placement from the center of the roadway. In contrast, the City of Bedford measured it from the edge of the road, causing a discrepancy. After planning/zoning director Brandon Woodward assured the board that the sign was in a safe location and built to an acceptable standard, the variance to allow the sign to stay closer to the road than mandated was voted on and approved.
