Traffic stop leads to three men arrested on dealing charges

ANDERSONOn Thursday, July 25, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Trooper Matt Dickerson was patrolling the City of Anderson near 38th Street and Columbus Avenue when he stopped a passenger vehicle for an equipment violation and speeding. Trooper Dickerson spoke to the car’s driver, who identified himself as Ki’Shawn Demond Anderson, 22, of Anderson. During the interaction, Trooper Dickerson recognized indicators of criminal activity and requested the assistance of the Anderson Police Department.

Anderson Police Sergeant Lanane and Officer Thacker arrived to assist Trooper Dickerson. Trooper Dickerson removed the driver and two other passengers from the car. During a search of the vehicle, Trooper Dickerson discovered a large bag containing approximately one pound of marijuana. Officers also located other items associated with distributing marijuana inside the car.  Trooper Dickerson arrested all the occupants and transported them to the Madison County jail without incident.

Ki’Shawn Demond Anderson was arrested and preliminarily charged with the following:

  • Dealing Marijuana – Level 6 Felony.
  • Possession of Marijuana – a Class B Misdemeanor.

D’Ayrion Ivy, 18, of Indianapolis.

  • Dealing Marijuana – Level 6 Felony.
  • Possession of Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor.

Ke’Andre A. Williams, 23, of Anderson.

  • Dealing Marijuana – Level 6 Felony.
  • Possession of Marijuana – a Class B Misdemeanor.
