MONROE COUNTY– The Monroe County Government has hired a private contractor to help
with tree debris pickup after the June 25th storm from residents who live within the county
jurisdiction.
County Officials are encouraging residents who want their debris to be picked up and removed to
place all of the tree and vegetation debris along the end of your property line either on the
curbside or near the edge to allow for easy access for the contractor.
Officials urge the public not to put debris in the roadway, ditches, or sidewalks.
The private contractor will be picking up the debris by township. The debris pickup schedule will
go as follows:
Perry Township- Currently Being Picked Up
Van Buren Township- July 31 to August 7
Clear Creek Township- August 7 to August 14
Richland and Bloomington Townships- August 14 to August 21
Salt Creek Township- August 21 to August 28
Polk Township- August 28 to September 4
All debris for pickup must be set out a day before the scheduled collection date.
Due to the amount of debris, pickup may extend into the next week for each township. The
contractor will continue picking up debris in townships until all debris has been picked up.
If you reside within city jurisdiction, please follow city officials’ guidelines.
