According to Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Joshua Rhoades, on Thursday, July 4, at 9:39 p.m., he met a woman at the Department who reported having an active protective order against her ex-boyfriend, Daniel Watterson.

She told police that Watterson had been texting and calling her daily since July 1. She reported that Watterson would call and text from several different phone numbers that she didn’t recognize. He also followed her, her friends, and her family.

The woman had saved all the phone calls and text messages from Watterson.

Watterson was allowed to contact the woman about a child they shared. However, he was contacting her about where she was and who she was seeing.

The information was forwarded to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office and a warrant was issued for Watterson’s arrest.
