OOLITIC – An Oolitic woman was arrested after a warrant was issued for her arrest after a report of a domestic dispute on Thursday, July 11.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Thomas Porter responded to the 900 block of Mathis Avenue in Oolitic after Central Dispatch received a 911 call with no one on the line.

Sheriff Greg Day and Deputy Brenten Trueblood also responded.

When police arrived they found a male who had dialed 911. He was sweating profusely and breathing hard. Acton was found throwing his belongings out of the residence.

He told police his girlfriend Heather Acton had attacked him. He told police he didn’t want to get her in trouble.

He then showed police a video on his phone of the physical altercation that happened inside the home.

Police viewed a child in the video who witnessed the altercation.

Acton told police she came home from work and met the male at the stairway to the basement. He questioned the attire she wore to work. She didn’t reply and left. Once she returned home they began to argue with a child present.

As he began gathering his items to leave, Acton began throwing his personal belongings out of the house. Acton is seen in the video hitting him with a closed fist and shoving him as he attempts to retrieve his belongings. Action is viewed lunging towards the man with a multi-tool opened and the serrated blade exposed.

In an attempt to de-escalate the situation in front of a child’s view, the male shoves Acton into the garage and shuts the door.

Acton escapes from the garage and continues to be belligerent. She then goes to a neighbor’s home.

Police noted in their report they have responded to the home for five domestic fights in less than a year. They reported the fights are “getting more and more aggressive between the two.”

Child Protective Service was alerted and responded to the scene.

The information was forwarded to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
