BEDFORD – In celebration of Bedford North Lawrence’s 50th anniversary, the Marching Stars invite all marching band alumni to join them on the field for Homecoming on September 20, 2024.
This event will be all day, with rehearsal tentatively beginning at noon.
Students will rehearse with alumni only first to dust the cobwebs off. Then, alumni will be joined by the high school band and (tentatively) Bedford Middle School 8th grade band. Alumni will observe the high school band’s rehearsal as they prepare for their halftime performance. Alumni will join band members to eat dinner in the cafeteria before the football game.
During pregame, the alumni will perform the school song and national anthem alongside the high school and 8th graders. The plan is to conduct a short show at halftime with basic drill and music selections representing each decade of BNL’s existence. During the game, alumni will play short cheers and pep band tunes with the high school and 8th graders.
The uniform will be khaki shorts and the 2024 Marching Stars Alumni shirt designed by DNA Designs. Shirts will be ordered through DNA Designs and distributed at the event; the order link will be provided via email and Facebook when available. Part assignments and music will be distributed before the event.
