BEDFORD—This is the procession route planned for Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputy Brenten Scotler Trueblood’s funeral.
Deputy Trueblood, 25, was killed after crashing his motorcycle on State Road 445 west of I-69 ramp on Saturday, July 27.
Deputy Trueblood’s funeral services will be held Thursday, August 1, at 11:00 a.m., at the First Christian Church in Bedford, with Jeff Nikirk officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 31, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the First Christian Church.
Following Officer Trueblood’s funeral, the procession will leave the First Christian Church on 15th Street and go west to L Street. It will then go south on L Street to 16th Street, turn east, and proceed to I Street. It will then turn north and continue past the Lawrence County Police Department to 14th Street. From there, it will continue west to L Street and south to Green Hill Cemetery.
Deputy Trueblood graduated from Mitchell High School and the Southwest Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. He was a law enforcement officer with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and a member of FOP Lodge 172, Bedford Boat Club, and American Legion Gillen Post #33 of Bedford. He loved spending time with his daughters and family, his job, riding his motorcycle, and having fun.
He leaves behind his parents LaKindra and Jamie Harper and Brent and Elizabeth Trueblood, grandparents, his siblings, and two young daughters, Madelyn and MaKinley.
