BEDFORD – A Bedford man is facing drug charges on Monday, July 29, after Bedford Police officers responded to AutoZone on 16th Street after a report of a suspicious male dropping drug paraphernalia out of his vehicle.
When Bedford Police Major Clint Swanson arrived at 8:51 p.m., he spoke to a store employee who reported he witnessed who was driving a white Ford F-150 exit his vehicle and drop a meth pipe. The employee pointed out the male who was inside the store.
The male was 57-year-old Billy Walker. Officers stopped him as he was getting back into his pickup.
Walker appeared nervous and was rummaging through his vehicle in an attempt to hide something. Walker was told to step away from the vehicle.
He then handed an officer the glass smoking device that contained burnt crystal meth.
Sgt. Gerkin and Officer Tedrow arrived to assist.
In the vehicle, police found a small green baggy that contained crystal meth inside Walker’s cigarette pack and another small green baggy with crystal meth under the driver’s seat.
Walker was arrested on charges of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
