FRENCH LICK – Bedford North Lawrence carded wins over Corydon, North Daviess and Springs Valley during girls high school golf action on the Valley Links course on Tuesday.
The Stars, ranked No.18 in the state poll, posted a team score of 165, followed by the Panthers (167) and Cougars (221). The Blackhawks did not have the required four scores for a team count.
Kinleigh Root paced BNL with a 2-over 38 (with three birdies) while Sammie Nusbaum carded 41 (with a birdie on the first hole). Emma Endris (42) and Ellie Horton (44) completed the scoring for the Stars.
“Not a bad night,” BNL coach Kori Johnston said. “Overall we played pretty well, but we are still in a losing battle with our putters right now. But the good news is we have practice tomorrow and plan to dedicate a lot of time to putting. Hopefully we build a little more confidence in that part of our game, and then we can let it rip at Country Oaks.”
Corydon’s Emma Rowland was the medalist with an even-par 36.
The Stars will face Washington at Country Oaks on Thursday.
