BEDFORD – A Vevay man was arrested on a warrant when a man came to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department on June 17 to report Casey J. Mathews had violated a protective order.
According to Deputy Joshua Rhoades, the male and his girlfriend had an active protective order in place against Mathews. The woman is Mathews’ ex-girlfriend.
The male told police Mathews had sent more than 2,000 text messages to the female, asking the male to meet him somewhere to fight. Some of those messages were threatening, and the two feared for their safety.
The information was forwarded to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office, and a warrant was issued for Mathews’ arrest.
