National Weather Service: Rain will arrive on Thursday, with increased risk of flooding

INDIANA – Rain is forecasted to arrive in Indiana on Thursday.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis says some portions of the state could get as much as three inches of rain, which increases the risk of flooding.

There’s also a possibility of severe weather.

On Thursday, there were isolated showers with scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2:00 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming south around five miles per hour in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday Night

Scattered showers, thunderstorms, and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 a.m. Low around 70. Calm wind. The chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Friday

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 86. West southwest wind three to seven mph. The chance of precipitation is 80%—new rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, except for higher amounts that are possible in thunderstorms.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms before 2 a.m.. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. Light west wind. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday

A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming west at five to seven mph in the afternoon.
