One dead after motorcycle vs. semi accident in Daviess County

DAVIESS CO. — A Washington man has died after a semitractor-trailer collided with his motorcycle on Sunday.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened shortly after 10:00 a.m. near the intersection of County Road 600 North and County Road 100 West (Edwardsport Rd.)

According to police, Adenis Pepa, 23, from Brooklyn, New York, failed to stop at the intersection and hit the bike.

According to the sheriff’s office, a semi with a trailer was traveling west and failed to stop at the stop sign, pulling into the path of a motorcycle traveling south.

A 2024 Volvo semi, driven by 23-year-old Adenis Pepa of Brooklyn, New York, collided with a 2014 Yamaha motorcycle driven by 70-year-old Lester Linneweber of Washington.

Linneweber was rushed to a local hospital. He died from his injuries.

Pepa was transported to the hospital after suffering minor injuries.  Authorities say The driver submitted to a blood draw required by law due to the seriousness of the accident. That test was negative for drugs and alcohol.

The accident remains under investigation.
