SEYMOUR – A Seymour man was arrested for stealing items from The Andersons, a diversified company rooted in agriculture that operates in commodity merchandising, renewables, and plant nutrient sectors.
Police arrested 38-year-old Jacob R. Cockerham on two counts of burglary, Level 5 felonies, and two counts of theft, Level 6 felonies.
Officers responded to the business at 101 Agrico Lane on Monday after a report of a burglary.
Wire, power tools, brass fittings, and other items were reported missing. Police found damage to the property during the commission of the crime.
Later that day, police received information on a possible suspect. According to Seymour Police Department Lt. C.J. Foster, they went to Cockerham’s home on East County Avenue and found a number of the stolen items.
Investigators obtained a search warrant for Cockerham’s home and found other stolen items. On Thursday, August 15, they also secured a warrant for Cockerham’s vehicle and found more evidence linked to the burglary.
Cockerham was arrested at his home and transported to the Jackson County Jail.
