BEDFORD – On Thursday, August 15, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Captain Lonnie Johnson responded to a report of a domestic fight that had turned physical in the 4000 block of Leesville Road.
While en route, he was told that 43-year-old Travis Mason was on the property in violation of a protective order issued on April 11, 2024.
When Capt. Johnson arrived, he found Mason in the driveway near a vehicle. He was detained for invasion of privacy for violating the protective order.
During a pat down, police found two vials of Test E from Dunamis Labs. Both are 250mg/ml vials and are a Schedule 3 controlled substance. Mason told police he had bought the drug online, and it came with syringes. He stated he did have a prescription for the drug over a year ago but currently does not. He was then charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Sgt. A. Pope and Deputy K. Long arrived to assist.
The woman told police there was an active protective order, but she had been letting Mason stay there “because he had been okay.”
She told police on the day before, she and another friend had taken Travis to Jackson County to work, and he became violent and threw a Coke at her and hit the dash of the vehicle. She made him leave the vehicle and left him in Jackson County.
On this day, Mason returned walking and was “still out of hand.” She locked him out of the house and called the police because she was afraid.
When asked why she let Mason stay there, she told police they were still married. She loved him but wanted him to be the person he once was.
The woman then handed police a small black and gray lock box that belonged to Mason. She said she no longer wanted it at the house. In the lock box were several prescription bottles with Mason’s and the female’s names. Also, several syringes and a baggy containing a small amount of marijuana.
Mason told police that his wife was using meth and got out of control when she used the drug. He said the woman slapped him and hit him several times, but he didn’t want her arrested.
