BEDFORD- David Flinn, Commissioner of the Bedford Street Department, addressed the Board of Works last night at their meeting at StoneGate Arts and Education Center. The department is in the process of acquiring a new striping machine and a forklift.
The board accepted and approved the quote for the striping machine. SealMaster submitted the winning bid of $23,129.
Quotes for the forklift have not yet been gathered, but the board approved a budget of no more than $25,000 to be spent on the piece of equipment. Flinn stated when it comes time to purchase the forklift, he expects the price to come in well under budget. The department is buying a lightly used pre-owned forklift to save on cost.
