BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Police Department is now accepting applications for its annual Citizens Police Academy.
The Citizens Police Academy is an eight-week program designed to provide Bloomington residents with an in-depth look at the workings of the police department. Participants will gain a firsthand understanding of law enforcement topics such as firearms, use of force, K-9 detection, special investigations, and social work within the department.
“Join us for candid, open conversations about the law enforcement topics that matter to you during this free course,” the flyer reads.
The Academy is open to all Bloomington residents over the age of 18. Classes will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., starting September 24th and running through November 19th. Space is limited, and applications will be accepted until September 12th.
