WASHINGTON, D.C.–At the NCSL Legislative Summit in Louisville, Ky., earlier this month, lawmakers from around the country elected Senator Eric Koch (R-Bedford) to serve on the 2024-2025 National Conference of State Legislatures’ Executive Committee.

As the governing body of the National Conference of State Legislatures, the Executive Committee drives the organization by supervising and controlling the affairs of the Conference, its committees, and publications and deciding the organization’s ultimate positions on public policy.

“Serving on a bipartisan national committee for state legislatures is a profound honor. It allows us to bridge divides, find common ground, and craft bipartisan policies that reflect our diverse membership and the needs of our communities,” said Sen. Koch. “In this role, I am committed to fostering dialogue and civility and working to serve the legislative institution through the services provided by NCSL.”

“We are pleased to welcome Senator Koch on NCSL’s Executive Committee,” said NCSL President and Utah President Pro Tempore Wayne A. Harper. “I have full confidence that his leadership will inspire positive change and strengthen the shared goals of the National Conference of State Legislatures.”

Senator Koch has been an active member of NCSL throughout his tenure as a state legislator. As a nationally recognized leader in state energy, water, and telecommunications policy, he chairs the Indiana Senate Committee on Utilities. Senator Koch served as co-chair of NCSL’s Task Force on Energy Supply. Senator Koch continues to provide valuable insights on critical energy issues facing policymakers nationwide.

The Executive Committee meets four times a year to oversee the development and implementation of NCSL policies. For more information on the Executive Committee, visit: https://www.ncsl.org/about-us/executive-committee.
