BORDEN – Bedford North Lawrence battled back from a two-set deficit to bounce Borden in a marathon thriller during high school volleyball action on Thursday night.
The Stars dropped the first two sets, 27-29 and 22-25, before rebounding to post 25-18, 25-20 and 16-14 wins to remain unbeaten (5-0) and win its road opener.
“It was a real battle,” BNL coach Aaron Wagoner said. “Borden was very sound and very well coached. They had one very good outside hitter that tore us apart at times. Our team started slow, but made adjustments as the sets went on and didn’t give up. It was a very good character win for all the girls.”
Sammie Gratzer slammed down 25 kills, Zoey Shelton had 5 kills and 3 blocks, and Jenna Allen recorded 7 aces for the Stars.
BNL will host Edgewood on Monday.
