Secretary of State Diego Morales starts another round of delivering local election improvement grants

HENRY CO.– Secretary of State Diego Morales begins another round of visiting several counties to hand deliver local Election Improvement Grants. On Wednesday, he made stops in Madison County and Henry County and has more stops planned for the week.

Since the start of the year, Secretary Morales has delivered grant checks to nearly 70 Indiana counties for local election security, safety, and voter outreach projects. The counties are receiving grant dollars from the Federal Help America Vote Act to improve and secure local elections. This new round of statewide grants is valued at approximately $1 million.

Previous funding has been utilized for various improvements, such as voter outreach efforts, additional signage, security upgrades, etc.  Many counties implemented election improvements for the Primary Election.

“Providing Election Improvement Grants to county clerks is a crucial step in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our voting processes. My commitment to supporting county clerks underscores my dedication to a safe and secure election.  This round of Election Improvement Grants comes at a key time as we are now less than 100 days away from the General Election,” said Diego Morales, Indiana Secretary of State. Secretary Morales strongly encourages every eligible Hoosier to register to vote before the upcoming October 7th registration deadline and vote in the November 5th General Election.

After presenting checks in Madison and Henry Counties, Secretary Morales visited with county clerks and their teams to thank them and offer assistance for the upcoming General Election.
