Onward and upward: Lawrence County Girl Scout Bridging Ceremony celebrates achievement and advancement

BEDFORD- For many youths in our community, scouting is a way to learn critical new skills that they will carry with them for life. Recognizing them for their progress in the scouting program represents the lessons learned and the connections gained. Girl Scouts of the USA has six membership levels, or “ranks,” representing the age group they belong to within the troop. The levels are:

  • Daisy: Grades K–1
  • Brownie: Grades 2–3
  • Junior: Grades 4–5
  • Cadette: Grades 6–8
  • Senior: Grades 9–10
  • Ambassador: Grades 11–12

The Girl Scout Troops in Lawrence County held a Bridging Ceremony on Saturday at the Thornton Park Pavilion. Bridging is a beloved Girl Scout tradition that honors girls’ achievements yearly and celebrates their “crossing the bridge” to the next Girl Scout level.
