GALENA – Floyd Central broke loose in the second half for a 7-0 victory over Bedford North Lawrence during girls high school soccer action on Tuesday.
The Highlanders scored six times after intermission to pull away. Taylor Moore posted a hat trick and Mia Gianfagna added two goals for Floyd.
“We were able to play with them the first half and hold them off for about 20 minutes,” BNL coach Bret Roberts said. “Unfortunately the second half went differently. We didn’t play significantly worse the second half, they just played significantly better.
“They came out strong the second half and played like a different team, and we couldn’t keep up with them. Despite the score, we had several attacks on their goal, we just never had the opportunity to shoot.”
BNL (0-3, 0-1 in the HHC) will visit New Albany on Saturday.
