BATESVILLE — A woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $50,000 from her employer, the Indiana State Police said.
In August 2023, 61-year-old Jennifer Fullenkamp was the subject of a year-long investigation by the Indiana State Police Detectives in collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The investigation began after Fullenkamp’s employer, Scheele Orthodontics, reported significant missing payments from patients. Led by ISP Detective Paul Baker, the investigation revealed that Fullenkamp had allegedly stolen thousands of dollars while working at the practice for several years.
Investigators say she would convince patients to make cash payments for services, offering them discounts on their bills. Then, she would pocket the cash while altering the computer records to hide the theft.
Following the conclusion of the investigation by the Indiana State Police Special Investigations Section, the case was submitted to the Ripley County Prosecutor’s Office for examination. Consequently, a warrant was issued for Fullenkamp on charges of theft over $50,000 and corrupt business influence, both Level 5 felonies.
She was arrested without incident on August 23, 2024, and is currently held in the Ripley County Jail, awaiting her initial court appearance.
