BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested after he got angry and punched out a window.
On Thursday, August 22, Bedford Police Officer Brian Sorrells went to a business in the 2000 block of R Street after a man reported that his son was breaking windows from his shop.
When police arrived, they found 20-year-old Shane Gerkin sitting on the ground in front of the shop. There was a broken window in an entry door on the west side of the building.
Gerkin was detained.
The father told police his son has mental issues but refuses to seek treatment. He told his son that morning he needed to go for treatment. Gerkin got mad and punched the window.
Gerkin had injuries to his hand but refused medical treatment. He was transported to jail on a charge of criminal mischief.
