IOM is a prestigious program designed to enhance individual performance and elevate the professional standards of those working in associations, chambers of commerce, and other nonprofit organizations. The program’s curriculum, taught by university professors, industry experts, and leading practitioners, provides participants with comprehensive education in nonprofit management, including topics such as advocacy, membership, finance, and legal issues.

“I am honored to receive this scholarship and am excited to begin my journey with the Institute for Organization Management,” said Lorentzen. “This opportunity will allow me to expand my knowledge and skills, which will, in turn, help me better serve our Chamber members and the greater Bloomington community.”

Over the course of four years, participants of the Institute attend one session per year, each lasting five days, at locations across the country. Upon completing the program, graduates receive the IOM Graduate Recognition, signifying 96 hours of course instruction in nonprofit management. Additionally, the curriculum is aligned with the Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) and Certified Association Executive (CAE) certifications, allowing participants to earn credit hours toward these industry-recognized certifications.

“Kaytee is an extraordinarily valued member of our team, consistently demonstrating exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and technical skills,” said Eric Spoonmore, President & CEO of the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce. “Her commitment to professional growth and her pursuit of challenging educational opportunities, such as this IOM program, speaks volumes about her dedication to our organization and the community we serve. I have no doubt that the knowledge and skills she will gain through this experience will further advance her career and benefit the entire Bloomington community.”

Since its inception in 1921, the Institute for Organization Management has educated tens of thousands of leaders on how to build stronger organizations, better serve their members, and become effective business advocates. The program continues to be the premier nonprofit professional development opportunity for association and chamber professionals nationwide.
