NEW ALBANY – New Albany scored seven first-half goals while cruising past Bedford North Lawrence 9-0 during girls high school soccer action on Saturday.
Bailey Belden recorded a hat trick for the Bulldogs (3-1 overall, 1-0 in the Hoosier Hills Conference). New Albany scored three times in the first 10 minutes en route to a mercy-rule conclusion.
“We couldn’t keep up with them defensively or stop their attack down the middle of the field,” BNL coach Bret Roberts said. “They made quick passes around us. We got caught chasing the ball and not putting enough pressure on them in front of the goal. We had a couple offensive opportunities but no shots.”
The Stars (0-4 overall, 0-2 in the HHC) will visit Owen Valley on Tuesday.
