BLOOMINGTON – The Monroe County Planning Department will hold a public hearing on September 24th to discuss proposed changes to the County Development Ordinance.
The CDO is undergoing significant revisions, marking the first major update since the 1997 Comprehensive Plan.
One of the most notable proposed changes centers around residential density. The new ordinance promotes higher density, particularly in areas close to existing infrastructure and public services, while preserving lower-density residential zones in more rural or environmentally sensitive areas for a more detailed analysis of the fundamental changes and their impacts and a video explanation of the CDO.
