Anna Marie Fields, 85, of Mitchell (formerly of Owensburg) entered her eternal life on Sunday morning, September 1, 2024, at the home of Toby and Marilyn, where she had made her home for the last six years.
Born December 27, 1938, at Dolan in Monroe County to Kensey Cundiff and Eunice (Frye) Van Slyke. She had spent most of her childhood in Greene County. She married Buddy Fields of Owensburg on May 23, 1958. They spent almost 60 years together, living in the same place until he passed in 2018. Together, they had three children: Toby (Marilyn), Tammy (Gary), and Troy (Sandy); seven grandchildren, Misty, Marcy, Jason, Tara, Tegan, Tayla, and Tia, along with several great-grandchildren.
She retired from Bloomington Hospital. After retirement, she acquired her real estate license and worked for Bob Hunley Real Estate for several years. She attended Liberty Christian Church in Orleans.
She is survived by brothers Roy, Clarence, Dean, and Bub.
Her parents, brother Harry (in childhood), and sisters Mary and Bunny preceded her in death.
A graveside service for Anna will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, at Owensburg Cemetery, with Pastor Larry Alvey officiating. There will be no visitation hours.
Instead of flowers, the family requests donations to IU Health Hospice to be made in Anna’s memory.
