INDIANAPOLIS – A man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after allegedly being shot while driving on I-465.
On Tuesday, September 3, at approximately 1:20 p.m., Indiana State Police Dispatchers received an emergency call about a possible shooting on I-465 eastbound near Michigan Road on the northwest side of Indianapolis. The victim drove himself to the Meridian Street Exit and waited for help. The man was later transported by ambulance to an area hospital in stable condition.
Indiana State Police Detectives responded to the scene to investigate. Detectives believe the victim was driving a black Chevrolet Equinox eastbound on I-465 near Michigan Road; someone in another vehicle fired shots toward the Equinox, striking the driver. The suspect vehicle then fled from the scene.
This investigation is in the early stages, and there is no further information available at this time.
