September marks the start of the fall produce at the Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market

BLOOMINGTON – Fall is just around the corner. On Sunday, September 22, the autumn equinox marks the change of seasons.

This month, acquire some highly sought-after fall produce at the Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market on Saturday at Showers Commons at 401 North Morton Street from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Music at the Market

The Market hosts an entertainment double-header featuring the return of Tom, aka “Guitar Tom” Harlan. Tom is a guitar and vocal singer and songwriter.

His genres are Old-Time, Country, bluegrass, Blues, and Rock. He’s performed in the Bloomington and Brown County areas. He’ll lead things off with a performance at 9:00 a.m.

Rounding out Saturday’s performance lineup is Singer/Songwriter Nicholas Graham-Hall. His music allows him to tell a story “in a couple of hundred words and a few chords.”

He’ll begin his performance at 10:30 a.m. Both artists will perform on the BCFM Circular Stage.

Mayor’s Team at the Table

This community outreach program invites Market-goers to engage with the mayor and various department heads from the City of Bloomington government. 

Anna Killion-Hanson

Anna Killion-Hanson, Director of Housing, Neighborhood, and Development (HAND), will greet the public at the Farmers’ Market between 10 a.m. and Noon this Saturday.

The Farmers’ Market Advisory Council represents Market vendors, customers, and food and beverage artisans. It acts in an advisory capacity on policy matters relating to the Farmers’ Market. 

Officials are recruiting two customer service representatives.
