Illegal ginseng harvesting suspect apprehended after fleeing conservation officer

SULLIVAN CO. – A Sullivan County man, Jason Camden, was apprehended by a state conservation officer after being found illegally harvesting ginseng on state forest-managed property.

Camden, 50, attempted to flee and threw his backpack into a nearby lake, along with a glass smoking device. Upon confrontation, he jumped into the lake but was eventually apprehended.

Camden now faces charges of theft, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction of justice, and resisting arrest.
