New Albany knocks down BNL in 4 sets

NEW ALBANY – New Albany battled past Bedford North Lawrence in four sets during high school volleyball action on Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs (6-3 overall, 1-1 in the Hoosier Hills Conference) powered their way to a 25-8, 20-25, 25-18, 25-7 victory as the Stars suffered their fourth straight setback.

“New Albany is a team with some really good hitters and a solid setter,” BNL coach Aaron Wagoner said. “Nice game on their part.

“We started slow, adjusting to a new offense and new lineups. We served them really well in the second and third sets. We got in a pretty deep hole in the fourth set and couldn’t dig out quick enough.”

Sammie Gratzer and Jenna Allen had 7 kills each while Isabella Root had 3 kills and 3 blocks for BNL.

The Stars (7-4, 0-3) will seek to end their skid when they visit Bloomington North on Thursday.
