Former Seymour KFC manager arrested for theft of over $7,000 from the restaurant

SEYMOUR- On September 6, 2024, patrol officers with the Seymour Police Department received a report from Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) management that an employee had been taking money from the location. The employee allegedly documented that money was being put into the safe, but the numbers did not match up. The theft had been going on for approximately six (6) months. KFC believed they were missing over $7,000.00. During the investigation, evidence was obtained.

On September 10, 2024, investigators located the suspect at her residence in Seymour. When investigators contacted the suspect, they noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the location. Investigators received permission to search the location and located marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and equipment for a marijuana grow operation.

Investigators interviewed the suspect in the KFC theft. The suspect admitted to taking money from KFC. Investigators arrested Aimee J. Brooks age 40 of Seymour for theft a level 6 felony, neglect of a dependent a level 6 felony, maintaining a common nuisance a level 6 felony, possession of marijuana a class A misdemeanor, and possession of paraphernalia a class A misdemeanor. Brooks had been a manager at KFC. Brooks was taken to the Jackson County Jail and remanded into the custody of the jail division. Charges are being requested on other suspects.
