Orleans Farmer’s Market hosts themed 5k fundraiser

ORLEANS – The Orange County Home Grown Farmer’s Market is inviting the community to participate in its annual 5k run/walk fundraiser on Saturday, October 12th. This year’s event promises a fun and flavorful experience with partnerships formed with local businesses.

Participants can choose between a limited-edition race shirt or a classic Orange County Home Grown T-shirt for registration. Following the race, runners and walkers can enjoy a freshly grilled bratwurst with a discount voucher from Walt and Sue’s Cafe. To quench their thirst, a voucher for a beer or soda from the SpeakEasy Beer Garden will also be included.

The 5k serves as a fundraiser for the non-profit organization that operates both the Orleans Farmer’s Market and the French Lick Farmer’s Market. All proceeds from the event will directly contribute to supporting local farmers and artisans while promoting healthy lifestyles within the community.

Registration for the 5k kicks off at 9:00 a.m. on race day, with the run itself starting at 10:00 a.m. Participants can find the course map and complete registration online at https://www.facebook.com/OrangeCountyHomeGrown/.

Alternatively, individuals can stop by the host tent at the Farmer’s Market any Saturday leading up to the race to register in person. Payment can be made online, by mail, or on the day of the event.

The 5k will take place at Congress Square in Orleans.
